FAQs
01
What do you like most about taking commissions?
I love connecting with my clients and making heirloom-worthy apparel! I am passionate about reducing the waste perpetuated by the fast fashion industry, and creating custom orders that my clients will cherish for decades to come is my small way of doing just that. By using vintage or secondhand materials and making high quality items that will last a lifetime, I am able to give back to my community and my environment at the same time.
02
What services do you offer?
I accept basic sewing alterations and repairs, but prioritize custom orders. This allows me to develop lasting relationships with my clients and make the creative process more meaningful for both of us!

-
Mid-century reproduction basics
-
Customized wardrobe essentials for standard sizes or special needs (e.g. mobility issues or special access due to physical limitations)

-
Hemming
-
Zipper repair/replacement
-
Basic alterations (letting clothing in/out for better fit)
03
What services are not offered?
I am open to a wide range of projects, as I enjoy stretching the range of my abilities! That said, there are some requests I stray away from simply because I do not have the specialized training for such projects. Services that I am less inclined to accept are:

-
Highly tailored garments: Coating, suiting, etc.
04
Can I bring my
own materials?
Yes! Clients are welcome to provide their own materials, which can also decrease the ultimate project cost. Please note that depending on the project, clients may need to provide or cover the cost for mockup materials.
05
How much does a custom order cost?
You’ve probably heard it before: all custom orders are different. Thing is, it’s true! Each custom order is based on a variety of factors:

-
Materials (fabric, notions, specialty items, what I have in stock vs. what must be ordered)
-
Time (planning, patterning, fitting, construction, etc.)
-
Complexity of the garment
-
Client’s needs and preferences

I strive to be as transparent about pricing and turnaround as possible, and am happy to answer your questions as best I can. For the most accurate estimate, please submit a query.
This too, depends on the project. Simple projects for which I have materials in stock may have a 2-3 business day turnaround based on backlog, while others can take weeks to months. For the most accurate estimate, please submit a query.
